THE GREAT COMMISSION
"…And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19
The passage above has been the commission given to Christians for the purpose of saving souls and thus expanding the Kingdom of God. Under this obligation, a larger humanity have received "calls" or "callings" to the pulpit in other to help expand this kingdom since "...The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few..." (Matthew 9:37). Kingdom Expansion became the term adopted by contemporary Christians to explain this commission.
However, the confusion on the word "expansion" came in the later Christendom when the "calls" started to send the "receivers" to only cities and towns, when "calls" could not reach out to Ikot Udobia, Ikot Nsung, Ndoon Utim, Awa Ntong and the large populace in the interior villages where there is dire need of "breakthrough, salvation, healing and deliverance", where they even have the real seeds to sow (pawpaw, mango, water melon etc) and where the Word of God is little or none in their hearts even when mobile network service providers have extended their reach to some of these areas for quality "calls".
It becomes a matter of concern when the little cities around have lost lands that could be used for business establishments to erect worship centers even adjacent to an(other) church(es). On Sundays at some junctions, church ushers are seen advertising their denominations and competing for the pedestrians' patronage, yes, expansion. The count of churches has been lost and names of churches are beginning to conflict since MTN, Globacom, Airtel, Etisalat and others began calling people anyhow for advert purposes. Each call will result in new usher at the junction next Sunday. When places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukpum, Ikot Inyang, Nkuud and many other areas all over the world need more churches, the "call receivers" are busy erecting tall structures in Uyo, Port Harcourt, Abuja where we have already heard the gospels in all dimensions, of all kinds and even new gospels (I even heard once somewhere that Adam and Eve were not physically naked). This is KINGDOM CONCENTRATION AND NOT EXPANSION.
Yes, I beg to see a glassy Cathedral at Ikot Use Ekong with air condition and OTA broadcasts. I therefore call on "call recievers" to please remember the word-tasty regions of the earth so that the Word may reach the ears of all mankind as was purposed. Fear not! JESUS said "... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
